Seth Haley Celebrates 4th Grade Promotion 🎓 Today, Seth Haley held its 4th grade promotion ceremony! Students and their families gathered to celebrate this exciting milestone as they prepare to head to 5th grade at Carrigan Intermediate School. Teachers shared favorite memories and well wishes — they'll miss you all and can’t wait to see the amazing things you’ll do next!
Reminder: Monday, June 9 will be the final full day of school for the year, with Tuesday, June 10 through Thursday, June 12 as half days.
4th graders from all our elementary schools came together for a fun-filled Field Day at Painter Park! 🏃♂️🎉 They played games like tug-of-war, potato sack races, relays, and more. Plus, they were treated to lunch and cold drinks to stay fueled and refreshed! 💪🍔🥤☀️ Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen. 5th grade, here they come! 🎓💙
🔥🧊 Mad Science at Seth Haley! 🧪 — Today, Seth Haley students were treated to an exciting Mad Science assembly! They got to witness some very cool experiments — including fire and ice! 🔥🧊 Thank you to Mad Science for bringing science to life in such an entertaining and educational way. Our kids had a blast and learned a lot!
Curious Creatures Visit Seth G. Haley Elementary!
Today, our kindergarteners at Seth G. Haley Elementary School had an unforgettable experience thanks to a visit from Curious Creatures! 🐾
Students got the chance to meet and learn about a variety of amazing animals, including a chinchilla, ferret, lizards, a baby alligator, a snake, and more! They discovered fun facts about each animal’s behavior, lifespan, and unique characteristics.
Thank you to Curious Creatures for bringing this hands-on learning experience to our school. Our students were fascinated, engaged, and inspired — it’s a day they won’t soon forget! 🐍🦎🐊

Seth G. Haley’s hallways just got a vibrant makeover — thanks to our incredible Art Show! 🎨
Artwork from students in grades K–4 is now beautifully displayed along the main hallway, showcasing their creativity and hard work throughout the year. The collection features animals like mice and owls, alongside colorful creatures such as butterflies and bumblebees. Seasonal scenes include pumpkins, autumn leaves, snowy winter wonderlands, and bright floral portraits.
Each piece tells a story, and together they bring our school to life. Amazing work, artists — we’re so proud to display your talent! 🌟
🌟 Last night at WHHS, the 2025 Unsung Hero Recipient Dinner was held, celebrating the incredible individuals who make a difference every day in our schools.
Each school selected its very own unsung hero—from security guards and secretaries to teachers, speech pathologists, and more. No matter the position, every member of West Haven Public Schools plays a vital role in shaping the lives of our students and supporting our community.
We are proud to work alongside such dedicated professionals who care deeply about the education and well-being of our youth. Last night was a special opportunity to recognize and honor their hard work and commitment. 🙌

🎒 On Wednesday, May 7, West Haven Public Schools proudly welcomed the Class of 2038 at Kindergarten Orientation! 🌟
Held at each elementary school, incoming kindergartners and their families had the opportunity to meet the school principal, kindergarten teachers, and paraprofessionals. It was a special day of connection and excitement as both students and parents got a first look at the school experience ahead.
While students participated in a fun, interactive reading session, parents received an informative presentation covering daily schedules, transportation, safety protocols, communication options, attendance, and school policies. To wrap up the day, students rejoined their families for a guided tour of their respective schools.

🌍 Earth Day Super Hero Contest Results 🌍
Over 120 students participated in our Earth Day Super Hero Contest! Each student created a unique superhero dedicated to fighting pollution. The entries were filled with creativity and a strong message: protecting our planet is essential.
